Netflix’s ‘True Haunting’: Chilling Real-Life Ghosts That Will Keep You Up All Night!

Watch Netflix’s ‘True Haunting’ produced by James Wan. A docuseries is the perfect blend of true stories of supernatural terror, immersive reenactments, and chilling interviews. It will be released on October 7, 2025, and is perfect for Halloween binge-watching and ghost hunters.

A chill runs down your spine. You have been feeling it, haven’t you? That discomfort is a feeling of being watched. Suppose, now, that you make the same fear into a thrilling story. True Haunting is the latest Netflix venture into the paranormal world. This five part documentary series was released on the 7th of October 2025, and it is already rattling screens around the globe.

Horror mastermind James Wan is behind The True Haunting. He is also the creator of The Conjuring and Insidious, which are not ordinary ghost movies. It draws on true-life paranormal experiences, merging with immersion recreation with raw, current interviews with those who experienced nightmares. No scripts here, it is just unfiltered terror from everyday people who became accidental stars of hauntings.

Divided into two heart-thumping arcs, the series starts with “Eerie Hall.” Picture this: It’s 1984. College freshman Chris DiCesare relaxes in his SUNY dorm excited about freedom. But soon the shadows turn into shapes. Doors slammed without wind, whispers echo in empty halls. Chris alone and terrified calls in well-known paranormal researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren for their university lecture.

What then unfolds is a progression into demonic possessions that borders on sheer horror to dorm life. These three episodes under the direction of Neil Rawls are built as a thriller novel in effect: short, abrupt horrors interlaced with more intensive ones, and lengthy, soul-shattering survivor chats. It is the type of story that causes one to be sure that he/she checks his/her door locks twice at night.

Next up, there is ‘This House Murdered Me,’ a two-part gut-punch directed by Luke Watson. Introduce a young couple, April Miller and Matt Wilson, who are searching for their dream house in the suburbs. Joy turns to fear when she finds scratches on the walls in the night, and objects flying across the rooms. Their children scream because they have been awakened by invisible hands. In desperation, they seek expert help but the being retaliates even to the extent of imitating the voices of loved ones. Spoiler: This isn’t fiction. Within the last two decades, the family has relocated eight times. Today, April tells us how it shattered their world, but they bounced back stronger. It’s raw, real and it reminds us there is resentment in the house.

There is a lot of buzz around critics. According to Heaven of Horror, it is the best paranormal Netflix docudrama in the niche so far due to its high production value and emotional depth. Sure, the scares feel familiar. Some claim that it is classic ghost hunting shows such as Haunted. Yet each frame is dripping with atmosphere with Wan’s touch. This is the so far the best supernatural tale and it should be perfect for Halloween chills.

True Haunting is the highest-ranked Netflix show, competing with true-crime blockbusters such as The Monster: The Ed Gein Story. It’s more than entertainment. It is a glimpse into the inexplicable – the poltergeists, the belongings, and the brave souls who survived. Get relaxed and enjoy watching it on Netflix.
