It is time to celebrate for fans of the cult comedy franchise fans. Searchlight Pictures has formally confirmed that Super Troopers 3 will release in theaters on August 7, 2026, and the popular Vermont State Troopers will be returning to the big screen in another comedic adventure.

This news is officially announced by Searchlight Pictures that Super Troopers 3 will be released in theaters near you on August 7, 2026. This comedy sequel is produced by the Broken Lizard team after a span of seven years since the last one.

Some fresh faces along with the Original Cast
It is directed by American comedian and film director Jay Chandrasekhar returning to the screen as Thorny. The whole original cast reunites with Kevin Heffernan playing the role of Farva, Steve Lemme portraying Mac, Paul Soter portraying Foster and Erik Stolhanske as Rabbit. Brian Cox reappears as Captain John O. Hagan.
This film introduces some fresh faces to the franchise. Nat Faxon, who won an Oscar in a supporting role, plays Captain Todd Markowski, and Chace Crawford from The Boys plays the role of Baker Buchanan. Andrew Dismukes of Saturday Night Live completes the cast as Coy Burns.
Production was completed in record time
The major part of filming commenced at the end of August 2025 and concluded on October 2. The rushed production schedule is in keeping with the tradition of the franchise to work on a small budget but produce real entertainment.

Box Office Success Story
The Super Troopers franchise has been incredibly profitable. The first two films combined earned $55 million globally on a total budget of under $15 million. The original 2001 movie was awarded with the SXSW Audience Award and became a cult film.
There’s a lot of competition on the threequel’s opening weekend. It’s up against Universal’s One Night Only and an untitled New Line feature. But fans across the world is desperately looking forward to the Vermont State Troopers returning to the big screen.
