There were only five celebrities who made it through the nine-day selection; Gia Giudice, Shawn Johnson East, Kody Brown, Brianna LaPaglia, and Andrew East. Many of the contestants were broken, with sacks on their heads and extreme psychological pressure, such as being buried alive. Shawn and Gia were the only ones who did not give up on their cover stories and survived the emotional assault. Andrew, Kody and Brianna failed to pass the final test and could not resist such psychological pressure.
This was a historic season: only two contestants — Gia Giudice and Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson East — survived the brutal course, the lowest completion rate in the history of the show (only 11%).
