Scream 7 is set to hit theaters near you on February 27, 2026. The legendary slasher franchise is finally returning with an action-packed new chapter, after years of production delays and changes of cast.​

The big news is that Neve Campbell has returned as Sidney Prescott. She was completely missing from Scream VI because of a salary dispute, but now she is prepared to confront her fears once more. This time, there is a personal stake. Sidney has created a silent life in a small town, yet a new Ghostface killer appears with horrible plans.​

What’s the plot? When Ghostface goes after the daughter of Sidney, who is played by Isabel May, Sidney has to face the terrors of her past to save her family. The official trailer was released on October 30, 2025, and it demonstrates power-packed action effects and emotional scenes.​

It is the directorial debut of Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original Scream film in 1996. The returning veterans of the franchise are Courteney Cox in the role of Gale Weathers and David Arquette in the role of Dewey Riley. And one more surprise is that Matthew Lillard also returns.​
