What Happens in Episode 3?
This episode is about the story of Carol Sturka perfectly played by Emmy-nominated actress Rhea Seehorn. As the episode moves forward, she has to confront “The Others.” The official synopsis of Apple TV says “The World just wants to help — which infuriates Carol. A heart-to-heart conversation ends with a bang.” This obscure characterization hints at explosive conflict between Carol and the peaceful but controlling hive mind.
“The Joining” is an extraterrestrial virus that has turned the entire world into a blissful collective consciousness, and Carol is one of the 13 immune people fighting it. The other survivors, unlike Carol are not much interested in saving humankind but they lead luxurious lives thanks to the infected members of their families.
