A huge parade goes through the streets of Munich, with brass bands blasting, and the mayor banging a keg to break the first frothy Maß. Second day of Oktoberfest 2025 and the party is already legendary. Ready to dive into the foam?
Ah, Oktoberfest. That magical moment when Munich turns into a storm of laughter, lager and lederhsen. It is the 190th edition of the biggest beer festival in the world, and it is scheduled to start on September 20 through October 5, 2025. As of today 21st of September, the grounds at Theresaweies are as busy as ever before.

The show is expected to be attended by more than six million people, who will come to raise their steins in 16 tents which will be stocked with 7 million liters of this golden Bavarian brew.

Yesterday it began with a bang. At noon the official opening parade started at Marienplatz, with colorful floats and costumed people waving Bavarian flags. Next followed the highlight, the Lord Mayor of Munich, Dieter Reiter, with the first keg of the Schottenhammel tent, shouting, O zapt is! – that’s “It’s tapped!” for the uninitiated. Cheers erupted. Such short sentences are those that capture the excitement. But what about this festival? It is a fun marathon full of ancient traditions with modern fun.
On September 28, the giant funfair will offer kids free entry and unlimited rides because of its family-friendly atmosphere. Food stands are tempting with crunchy pretzels, fat Weisswurst sausages and more. The Dirndls swirl with dancers playing folk music and Oompah bands maintaining the momentum high. Weather’s holding steady- mild and sunny so far, great for tent-hopping.
The planners have intensified the level of security by increasing the number of staff and lost-found tech. And for sustainability, we installed Eco-tents and recycled them like the pros. Oktoberfest 2025 is screaming for celebration whether you are a first-time attendee or a Wiesn veteran. Get in your traditional clothes, reserve your tables early (they are filling up so fast!), and be surrounded by Bavarian culture. What’s your go-to tent? Share in the comments below!
