Marvel Rivals Season 5 Premieres With The X-Men Power Couple
Get ready to witness the most romantic and explosive season ever. NetEase Games has officially launched Season 5 of Marvel Rivals and it is introducing two popular mutants on the battlefield. The new season, which is aptly called Love is a Battlefield, premieres on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Gambit and Rogue Join the Hero Roster
The focus is on Rogue and Gambit, the legendary couple of X-Men whose love affair has been fascinating the Marvel audience over the decades. Early reports indicate that Rogue will release right at the same time as the release of Season 5 and Gambit will release later in the mid-season 5.5 update, as was with Daredevil joining partway through Season 4. Their introduction was cleverly styled their reveal as a wedding invitation in their announcement trailer, a reference to their legendary romance in Marvel comics.
What’s New in Season 5?
Season 5 also includes new playable heroes, a new Battle Pass and limited-time events and gameplay enhancements. There was also a surprise in the trailer: a brief glimpse of Cyclops, suggesting that he could be a future playable character in upcoming updates. The season follows the successful pattern of the introduction of new heroes used by Marvel’s Rivals but balanced changes and exciting events were preserved.
Season 5 – Story and Theme
The episode revolves around the marriage of Gambit and Rogue, with a hectic backdrop of timestream tangles. This storytelling style is a continuation of Marvel Rivals’ tradition of integrating intriguing storylines into game updates. Since its release in December 2024, the free-to-play hero shooter has received more than 40 million players.
As Season 4 ends this week with the introduction of characters such as Daredevil and Angela, everyone is now wondering what Rogue and Gambit will bring to Marvel Rivals’ competitive meta.
