General Hospital came out as the biggest winner of the Daytime Emmy Awards 2025 with seven trophies and legendary naturalist Sir David Attenborough rewrote history by becoming the oldest Emmy winner ever at the age of 99 years old.
General Hospital Steals The Show At The 52nd Daytime Emmy Awards.
The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards honored the best in American daytime television on October 17, 2025, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California. The award ceremony hosted by Mario Lopez also honored the best contributions in the fields of soap operas, talk shows, and lifestyle programming.

The most successful winner of the night was General Hospital. The ABC soap opera won seven highly regarded awards, of which is the coveted Outstanding Daytime Drama Series trophy. Nancy Lee Grahn was named Best Actress for her role as Alexis Davis and Jonathan Jackson was the Best Supporting Actor. It was also a show that gained fame because of its outstanding writing crew.
Drew Barrymore won the Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host category on The Drew Barrymore Show. Nevertheless, Live With Kelly and Mark got Outstanding Daytime Talk Series, ending the four-year winning streak of Kelly Clarkson. Paul Telfer won his first Emmy in the category Best Actor for his role as Xander Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives.
At 99, Sir David Attenborough became the oldest winner of a Daytime Emmy. He set the record of Dick Van Dyke, who won in 2024, by winning Outstanding Daytime Personality in The secret lives of orangutans by Netflix. Deborah Norville, a veteran journalist, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award for her incredible contribution to broadcasting.
The Drew Barrymore Show and Secret Lives of Animals won three awards each. And The Young and the Restless topped the nomination list with 19 nods followed by General Hospital with 16. Three new categories were also introduced during the ceremony, of which Outstanding Emerging Talent was won by Lisa Yamada.
