The second season of Chad Powers is not yet officially announced, but there are still enough reasons to remain hopeful. On October 28, 2025, the Hulu hit series starring Glen Powell came to an end with a mind-blowing cliffhanger that had audiences screaming to see more.

What Glen Powell and the Creators Are Saying?
Powell, the actor who portrays disgraced quarterback, Russ Holliday, has shown keen interest in returning. The Golden Globe nominee explained to TheWrap that “I’m always going to find a way to make time for it”. The fact that he can create something entertaining with his best friend Michael Waldron that will appeal to audiences makes him very happy.
This was shared by Co-creator Waldron. “We will certainly think about making more only if they like it,” he said. The two have already planned for this possible three season and do not want their fans to wait years for new episodes.
Expected Release Timeline
Hulu has not officially renewed the series, but industry insiders believe that the series will be renewed by November 2025. Season 2 may come out as early as 2026 in case it is greenlit. Waldron stressed that they prefer to provide episodes at the time of schedule without a long delay.

Powell has some exciting ideas in case Season 2 happens. He desires to showcase his alma mater, the University of Texas at Austin. In Season 2, he teased, “Catfish will certainly go head-to-head with the Longhorns in Season 2.”
The finale of Season 1 left some questions unanswered. Will the secret identity of Russ be revealed? Will the South Georgia Catfish be the champion? Such cliffhangers turn Season 2 feel essential, and not an option.
