After the allegations, Smith resigned as managing director of Trailer Park Boys Inc. The production company issued an announcement admitting to the gravity of the accusations. Gary Howsam has taken on the role of managing director. The company made it clear that they do not underrate such issues but at the same time respect the legal process that is still going on.
Impact on The Show’s Future
Trailer Park Boys Inc. has stated that the show will continue with Season 13 as expected despite controversy. Film shooting wrapped in August 2025, which was almost eight years since Season 12. The new season is planned to air April 2026, on the 25th anniversary of the show. The season will be available for fans on Netflix as well as on the recently introduced TPB+ streaming service.
According to court records, Smith has been prohibited from meeting the alleged victim, whose identity is held under a publication ban. Bubbles, played by the 53-year-old actor, has been with the show since it started in 2001, along with co-stars Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay. These charges remain unproven in court.
