Avatar: Fire and Ash by James Cameron will be released in theaters worldwide on December 19, 2025. The third sequel to the blockbuster franchise will ensure that audiences venture into the unknown territories of Pandora.
What’s The Story About?
The film is the continuation of the journey of Jake Sully and Neytiri as the family encounter unprecedented challenges. This time round, they will come face to face with the Ash people, a hostile tribe of Na’vi that are said to be angry and volcanic. This new clan, led by the powerful Varang, whose role is played by Oona Chaplin, threatens peace on Pandora. The Sully family has to cope with grief and overcome growing conflicts on the planet.
Production Updates & Cast
Cameron confirmed that filming was completed (almost 95%) in December 2020. The director is now in the post-production phase, working on special effects and pickups. The returning actors include Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Kate Winslet. Shooting for Avatar 4 has started, and approximately a quarter of the footage has been shot.
Theater experience
Avatar: Fire and Ash will be exclusively released in theaters. The film is available on IMAX 3D, Dolby Cinema 3D, RealD 3D and premium screens. The tickets are already selling on international markets.
The franchise is still expanding, as Avatar 4 will be released on December 21, 2029, and Avatar 5 will bring the saga to an end on December 19, 2031. Cameron is still interested in shooting all the sequels in New Zealand.
