Get ready all Spy Fans, this season Slough House is Back and Messier than before.
Your favorite Slow Horses Season 5 is back with all-new six episodes. It is the hook of Slow Horses Season 5 that comes out today on Apple TV+. Gary Oldman plays the legendary Jackson Lamb, a brilliant slob of a spymaster who brings his team of MI5 rejects back to a new hell. Prepare to be betrayed, laugh, and sit on the edge of your seat? It is your new binge obsession with an espionage thriller.

It is the first season of the British spy series fans have been waiting for since the end of Season 4 last year. The series is six episodes based on Mick Herron’s gripping novel, London Rules. These are the sidelined agents, those that MI5 bosses dumped as they are “slow horses”, which are too imperfect, too human. But don’t let that fool you. Once a compromised agent stirs the capital, the Lamb’s misfits discover rules that no one can dare to violate.

The premiere gives you a double dose. Episodes 1 and 2 will be released on September 24, 2025, at 3 a.m. ET on Apple TV+. New chapters are released weekly until October 29. Jack Lowden reappears as River Cartwright, an aspiring young operative who takes a lead in landing in hot water. Kristin Scott Thomas comes back as the icy/cold-blooded Diana Taverner, Second Desk at MI5 who plays power plays. And what about the cast: Saskia Reeves plays the role of the loyal Catherine Standish, Rosalind Eleazar plays the role of the techno-savvy Louisa Guy and Christopher Chung plays the role of the sharp Roddy Ho. Expect some new faces this season?
What makes this Slow Horses season different, in terms of the extensive spy drama genre? It is the perfect blend of razor-sharp witty and gritty realism. There are no devices or glitz here, only human beings in their imperfect bodies fumbling through darkness and terror. The trailer is about “destabilized London,” and this is a hint of political intrigue that can be related to real-world chills. Apple TV + has done it again. This was the second hit, with Will Smith’s production polish (yes, that Fresh Prince, through his company).
